Acute cardiac care

Research interests include the study of new therapies and interventions for the management of acute myocardial ischemic syndromes:

1. The use of thrombolytic agents in the setting of acute myocardial infarction.

2. The role of revascularization procedures in the treatment of cardiogenic shock complicating acute myocardial infarction.

3. The role of anti-platelet and anticoagulant therapies in prevention of cardiovascular events in patients following acute myocardial infarction.

4. The role of anticoagulants in preventing cardiac events following coronary angioplasty in patients with unstable angina.

Other areas of interest include the study of the decision-making processes in patients designated "Do Not Resuscitate," and the use of advance directives in patients who are critically ill.
