Graduating with honors in Orthoptics and Ophthalmic Assistance in 2006 in Italy, I bring 17 years of comprehensive experience, enriched by a unique blend of roles in both orthoptic and optometric domains. Proficient in multitasking within the ophthalmological field, my expertise encompasses examining ocular motility, diagnosing and treating motility disorders, and developing surgical plans with detailed prism measurements pre and post strabismus surgery. My proficiency extends to the evaluation of congenital, acquired, paralytic, and refractive strabismus, including cases related to genetic syndromes. Additionally, I conduct orthoptic assessments for patients with thyroid and neurological diseases. My commitment to continuous learning is evident through the pursuit of various master's and specialization courses, enabling me to perform tasks such as refracting patients, planning and assisting in surgery, and administering contrast for fluorescein angiograms. In addition to hospital experience, my tenure in an optical store has honed skills in conducting refractive visits, retinoscopy, and prescribing glasses, including prisms. I excel in calculating and applying diagnostic contact lenses for patients with corneal diseases like keratoconus. My international career in Ireland saw me specializing in Laser surgery, operating with the Intralase IFS Laser System, STAR S4 IR Excimer Laser System, and WaveScan-Front System. During my tenure at Blackrock Clinic (2016-2018), I led the surgical services of the Eye Department and served as a tutor, providing support and training for new staff members in ophthalmic equipment and surgical procedures. This wealth of experience has paved the way for my current role at WCM, where I serve as a teacher for fellows and residents. During clinic hours, I impart knowledge on orthoptic assessments, strabismus measurements, and prism correction, drawing upon the diverse experiences that have shaped my career.
