Haytham Ali   Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics

With more than twenty-five years of experience in pediatrics and neonatology, I am committed to advancing safe, equitable neonatal care through clinical leadership and system enhancement. Over sixteen years as an attending physician in the UK and Qatar, I have concentrated on implementing evidence-based practices, fostering team development, and optimizing complex care delivery. In 2021, I assumed the role of Senior Attending Neonatologist at Sidra Medicine, following my leadership of NICU activation and receipt of the CEO Excellence Award in 2018. My formal education in healthcare management (MBA, 2023) reinforces my focus on outcomes and strategic leadership.

At the national level, I have represented my institution in initiatives such as the national newborn screening program, the national clinical guidelines group, and the neonatal network. Internationally, I served as Deputy Chair of the Climate Change Working Group with the RCPCH in the UK. Additionally, I am an associate editor for the Journal of Clinical Medical Reports (JCMR), Springer Nature.

My academic appointments include Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leeds and Assistant Professor at WCMC-Qatar, highlighting my dedication to education and mentorship. I actively participate in both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and currently serve as Program Director for the neonatal-perinatal fellowship in Qatar. My research on maternal diabetes contributes to practice and policy through peer-reviewed publications and international presentations.
