Serum Adiponectin Levels in Infants and Children

Dr. Osorio's current research interests are in the area of childhood and adolescent obesity. In collaboration with Dr. Mirjana Nesin and Dr. Kyriakie Sarafoglou, she is conducting the study on serum Adiponectin levels in infants and children.

Adiponectin is a substance produced by the fat cells. Levels of this substance are lower in blood of obese and diabetic patients. Very little is known about the levels of this hormone in the blood of infants and young children.
