Sharing a residence with an adult child: a cause of psychological distress in the elderly? Academic Article uri icon

Overview

abstract

  • The effects of residence-sharing on the psychological well-being of the elderly is examined among a stratified random sample of elderly persons in a major metropolitan area. Multivariate analysis produces findings that counter the generally held belief that elderly people who share a residence with an adult child are more likely than other elderly people to experience psychological distress.
