Overview

abstract

  • Dermatologists are instrumental in diagnosing and treating dermatologic manifestations of end stage kidney disease (ESKD), and affected patients require a multidisciplinary team-based approach to management. In part two of this two-part continuing medical education series, we review dermatologic manifestations associated with the management and therapeutics of ESKD. Herein, we highlight the epidemiology, clinical presentation, and management of unique treatment associated dermatoses in patients with ESKD, including calciphylaxis, dialysis-related amyloidosis, access steal syndrome, acroangiodermatitis, and nephrogenic systemic fibrosis.
