A Wandering Fibroid's Journey: A Primary Parasitic Myoma. Academic Article uri icon

Overview

abstract

  • While fibroids are the most common benign tumors plaguing reproductive-agedpatients, primary parasitic myomas are a rare form of fibroids, particularly in the absence of prior uterine surgery or morcellation. This case illustrates an unusual presentationof a primary parasitic fibroid, with clear intraoperative visualization and imaging correlation. The accompanying images highlight key anatomic relationships and surgical considerations that are directly relevant to gynecologic surgeons performing these minimally invasive excisions.
