Dr. Mohammad Arifuzzaman's research focuses on understanding how environmental factors, including signals from diet and microbiota, regulate the immune system. His research program operates at the intersection of immunology, microbiology, and chemical biology, employing a cutting-edge, metabolomics-based approach that integrates untargeted metabolomics, bacterial genetics, and transcriptomic studies. Using this approach, Dr. Arifuzzaman's lab investigates the complex interactions between nutrition, microbial metabolism, and the host immune system, with implications for infectious, inflammatory and metabolic diseases, as well as cancer.
